Colorado School of Mines Early Childhood Education Center

Building Tomorrow's Leaders, Today

Project Overview

This 10,200 SF ground-up Early Education Learning Center, located at 19th Street and Tangent Way on the western edge of Mines Park, was designed to serve approximately 104 children from the Mines community, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years. Bright Horizons, the nation's largest provider of employer-sponsored childcare, was contracted to operate the center. The project involved extensive site work, construction of the main facility, and secure outdoor play areas, all designed to meet state licensure requirements under the Colorado Department of Human Services. The building included classrooms, administrative offices, conference rooms, and support spaces. With a goal of achieving LEED Gold certification, the center was thoughtfully designed to allow students to experience and engage with the surrounding natural environment.
