During the pre-construction phase, our team works with the Owner and entire design team to review the concept and schematic design to perform constructability reviews, propose appropriate changes, develop schedule and safety plans. We consult with our trusted subcontractor base to identify long-lead items and commence the value engineering process. We actively collaborate throughout the entire design process ensuring that surprises are eliminated prior to construction. Our philosophy dictates that 50% of the overall project is completed before we even break ground. Throughout construction, our entire staff thoroughly maintains coordinating procedures through completion and closeout.

The type of construction project influences the approach of action that we assemble with the client, and no two plans are the same. An occupied remodel often requires a phased construction approach with extra attention to staging of construction materials and signage to ensure the safety of the occupants and public on site. Constructing on a new site calls for detailed logistics plans, staging, traffic control, and scheduling. Whether constructing a new building or tackling a technical renovation, daily communication is maintained largely through our use of Procore.

Design-Build Project Delivery
In the design-build method of project delivery, the Owner manages only one contract with a single point of responsibility. The A.D. Miller team collaborates with the designers from the beginning, as a team to provide project recommendations to fit the Owner’s program requirements, schedule, and budget. Any changes or deviations are addressed in partnership by the entire team by refining the design resulting in an atmosphere of problem-solving and innovation without excuses or blame-shifting.

Construction Manager / General Contractor (CM/GC)
The CM/GC project delivery method allows the Owner, design team and A.D. Miller to develop the project scope, optimize design, improve quality, manage costs, and share risks. All team members collaborate continually to build a foundation of trust and transparency, resulting in a strong partnership between the Owner, designers, and contractor. This process promotes an environment of creativity and efficiency.
