Macanta Amenity Center

The Macanta Amenity Center is part of the Macanta Neighborhood Development, flanked by the 450-acre Macanta Regional Park which is situated Northeast of Castle Rock in Douglas County. This creative space is a place where visitors can invite friends and family to enjoy viewing wildlife and get in touch with its ranching past. This freestanding cast-in-place concrete and steel structure have perforated steel paneled wall features in the open-air gathering room that creates an interesting juxtaposition of shadows, shade, and natural light that filters in during the day. The wood-flanked ceiling is tall, with ample lighting and a welcoming oversized fireplace. The building is characterized by a balance of large swaths of glazing, open-air views which frame beautiful vistas of gulches, gullies, and drop-offs of the surrounding mountains and pinon trees.

The Macanta Amenity Center is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind community center focused on living a healthy lifestyle. The Center offers a leisure pool, separate children’s pool with a zero-entry splash pad, and a community room with a kitchen. In the lower level of the facility a full-service workout gym and bike shop capture impressive views of the local area through massive storefront glazed windows.

This modernist-inspired space with its long-sloped sweeping shed roof provides is a partially open-air protected space for gatherings. A central fire pit creates a cozy communal space. The entire structure is carved into the ground, creating a main floor entry that’s expansive, vibrant, and quite impressive in scale. The center sits nestled in the lower area of the first-floor roofline, overlooking the pools below and framing impressive views of the park-like setting. Inside the Center, patrons will find relaxing sitting areas, a fireplace, and access to the outdoor decks.

There are lots of gathering spaces where pool guests can play and let their imaginations run wild. Gabion and cast-in-place concrete retaining walls set the backdrop and tone, tying the natural beauty of the surrounding area with this newly built structure offering a seamless and modern design. Local rocks were gathered to fill the gabion cages, these cages create elevation changes and also provide unique seating within the pool areas.AD Miller helped build a timeless structure that Macanta guests will be proud to entertain in for many years to come. This project is a culmination of AD Miller’s construction expertise, vision, and project execution.
