Colorado Railroad Museum
Excellence in Construction
Project Overview
The new construction of this museum included a library, board room, private study rooms and a temperature and humidity controlled storage area for valuable historic pieces. The construction of the core and shell of the museum consisted of spread footings, slab on grade, a post and beam frame, UV resistant windows, brick veneer and composition asphalt shingles on the roof. The Colorado Railroad Museum Library is a popular tourist attraction opened throughout the year in Golden, Colorado.
The museum offers visitors information and exhibits showcasing the history of railroading in Colorado dating back to the 1800's.
